As far as I know, Alb. prefix (preverb) s(ë)- with variants so-/su-
or voiced ones z(ë)- before voiced stops, has many functions.
With intesifying meaning we find it in: <provoj> 'to proove',
<sprovoj> 'to experience, to go through', <kuq> 'to dye (in red), to
rouge', but <skuq> 'to roast', etc. As preverb, making factitive-
causatives: zbeh 'to (make) pale', ia behu 'to come swiftly like
light, to pop in, to come unexeptedly', <pastroj> 'to clean',
<spastroj> 'to purge, to purify'.
Its variations so- is present in <sohia> 'shade' (cf. <hie> 'shadow',
and <suvalë> 'breaker, billow surge' (cf. <valë> 'wave' (Çabej-
Xhuvani "Parashtesat e gjuhës shqipe").
I guess that its origin can't be devided from PIE *ksun-, basic form
*su(n)- (cf. Greek syn-, Slavic so-, s-.
I believe that here belongs too another Alb. prefix sh- with its
variang zh- before voiced stops: ndrit 'to shine', <shndrit> 'to be
radiant', shkabë 'eagle', zhgabonjë 'id.' etc.
