These are two different things The loss of nasals before PIE *s is
certainly earlier (though I'm not sure how early), and there is no trace
of nasalisation in Albanian: *mems- > *miNs- > mish. Before a secondary
/s/ from *c^ the loss of nasalisation is late and only dialectal:
*penc^- (+ *-a:) > pêc^ë > Standard Albanian pesë, but <pêsë> with a
nasal vowel is still common in Northern Geg.
