Hello Miguel,
Your explanation is the most probable :
Miguel:
" The easiest interpretation is that the native population adopted
Latin as its first language (along with any Latin colonists
immigrated into the area), and after a while everybody forgot how to
pronounce /h/, as any Latin speaker. "
In this case a first conclusion is :
C1. "We cannot take into account the Romanian language in order to
decide the existance of the Dacian /H/. "
And my initial assumption should be change in :
"Dacian /H/ -> seems possible."
Further, we can follow only 2 directions :
a) To check the Dacian words (we have very few with /H/ : 'Hormia' -
> plant) , trying to identify a possible PIE in order to be sure if
we have a wrong spelling or not, and from where this /H/ could appear.
b) To analyze albanian /h/ (PIE *sk, *or etc...):
in relation with Dacian Toponyms that could contains these PIEs
too, with the check of the assumption (maybe not true but with no
contra-example, as I know, until now) that Albanian is a Dacian
dialect.
If somebody could help me in these 2 directions (thanks again to
the people that already did it), please do it.
Best Regards,
marius
P.S. : sorry M. Iacomi but "Corvinus" is not a translation of
Dioskurides , for Aprus not Haprus please see :
