So what? Kalyanaraman has been dropping the "news flash" on us
for years that he's deciphered the Indus Valley Script. The
earliest online announcement that I know of was in October of
1999 at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/indo_iranian/message/131
where he claims that "the language is Prakrit". His profile at
http://profiles.yahoo.com/kalyan97 has included since at least
March of 2002 the claim that he

"Set up magnum opus website: http://www.hindunet.org/saraswati
Developed project proposals in Sarasvati River Basin. Cracked the
Indus Script code as weapon lists and metallurgical artefacts.
Decipher".

So while he's obviously a very important man (a Doctor by some
accounts, though I assure you, not of linguistics) with his hand
in many very important projects, I still have to wonder, and ask
again, what is it about this latest attempt of his that you think
deserves special attention? Please include _specific_ points for
discussion Anthony, although the thread might be better moved to
the Indology or Indo-Iranian lists.
