I shouldn't be writing this, but let's say that I'm no longer saying
anything about your ludicrous etymology of <një>. I'm just correcting
your misrepresentation of the history of <tetë>.

PIE *a and *o merged as *a in pre-Albanian, so the actual development
was more or less like this:

*ok^tó:- + *-t- > *atø:t- > *(ë)te:t- > tet-

The vowel that got reduced and lost was (short) *a. Proto-Albanian had
no short *o at all.
