You have more trouble with the English language than I do. Why don't
_you_ look up "abandon" in a dictionary if you're confused about its
meaning. It means "letting go, leaving behind, forgetting about".
I have a French friend who is forgetting his French little by little. He
doesn't mean to but his brain can't remember everything and when
you're emersed in an English-speaking culture, you forget the things
you never use.
