Which latter option would be assigning a special status to Germanic,
for no good reason, so I reject that. Therefore, Germanic must have
dispersed around the beginning of our era, and since archaeology does
not recognize migrations at that time the size of those a couple of
centuries later, it must have happened through small-scale invasion
and elite dominance. Which is what Snorri said.
