actually "fa" is the worb "make" in its present 3ps form, Legname
means "woodwork".

This is the most usual way of making "nomina agentis" in Italian when
the nomen agentis incorporates an object.

The same construction is also used to make words denoting tools, f.
eks. aspirapolvere =sucks dust = vacuum cleaner
