Ahhmmm... which should be in your acceptation the definition for
"cultural"?
I am afraid that if you exclude "ethnicity" and "cultural" there does
not remain too much for explaining how the IE-speakers spreaded. Mybe
trough violence and obliging the people to learn their language. I don't
think you are a fan of this kind of way to spread a language but I may
be wrong.
