Indeed, I am afraid that dhëndu:rë is just a standard form of plural.
Much oldest form it seems to be <dhënduer>. The contraction of the
diphthong /ue/ yields long u: (see above duer/duar < dour, besides
du:r).
I am afraid that you have right that here we have to deal with dual
marker or I am lost here too.
