thank you for try Peter. I stil hope this is in Greek since the
Bulgarian form does not explain the Rom. fonetism.
The word in Rom. is "pirostrie" and this is a piece of iron which is
used to support the pots when the food id prepared. Usualy this tool can
have 2 form. It is circle or a rectangle with 4 or 3 legs (3 legs just
for the circular form):
One makes fire and you have this "pirostrie" there so you can put your
tops on for making the food. Thus, the connection with fire is obious
from what one does with that piece of tool; I wonder if there is the
connection with "pir"= fire or if this "pir-" in "pirostrie" is just a
pure cincidence.
