Keyboards

I was going through some old books and ran into an textbook on
classical Greek. As I thumbed through it I realized how much I had
forgotten in only 4 decades. Anyway I started reading it and decided
to make a few notes of the basics. Although I found a Greek keyboard
in Windows Me and even though I have Office 2000 (both US English
versions), I was unable to enter accents and breathing marks. It
occurs to me that I have never had the occasion to type any language
requiring accents or equivalents showing vowel length as in
Hungarian.

As an example; Greek éððïò (hippos) should have a rough breathing
mark over the iota and an acute, also áèëïí (athlon) should have a
cicumflex and a smooth breathing mark over the alpha. The problem is
I don't know how to achieve this. Is it even possible to use a
modern Greek keyboard for classical Greek? Any suggestions would be
welcome.

BTW anyone reading of contributing to this group should be proud to
be a part of one of the best groups on Yahoo. I haven't been around
for four years but the knowledge here is incredible (sometimes even
litterally). Maybe I'll celebrate in true blue collar style, with a
full 7 course meal, a Big Mac and a 6 pack.
