Thus, the Albanian form of
> '*h2arg^-es-jo-' should have been '*ardes-'. No /s/, no /z/ but
simply
> "d".

Dear Alex,
I am afraid that Alb. form of *h2arg^-es-jo- should be exactly
ARGESH.
In my view, due too many researches I have made about inherited Alb.
lexicon, the palatals and labiovelars, if are they preceded or
followed by nasals and liquids, they are behaving like pure velars.
Let take some examples: *gWher- 'to heat, to worm' > zjarr 'fire' <
zjerm/zjarm. But, metathetic lengthened e-grade form *gWre:-sco >
ngroh < n- + groh (inchoative verb), besides <nxej> 'to worm' < *n-
gWer-enyo- > n-zernj > nxenj (cf. about z>x <i zi> 'black' and
<nxij> 'to blacken' <n-zinj.).
Or, lets take a look in Alb. adjective <i madh> 'big' < *mag^-, but
suffixed form *mag^-na- > majë < manjë 'tip', *mag^-lo- > *magol>
magulle 'heap' (according to P. Skok, attested in Illyrian) and Rom.
rhotasized form <magure>.
I think that we have talk about well-known example of Illyrian names
Vescleves and Alb. quaj 'to call' and dëgjoj 'to hear' < *k^leu-enyo-
'to hear'.
