Yes, I am sure that meaning of 'blago' was horned cattle, at least
in croatian/serbian (and in dialectal use still now).
I agree that primary meaning of the word in question may be "good"
(for example: 'blag' = "to be good"
and 'blagodat', 'blagoslov', 'blagotvoran'), but I can nothing to
say how old is 'horned cattle' meaning (here you have a total
amateur).
Primary meaning, also, may be 'horned cattle', and later
meaning 'treasure' and 'goods' , but truly, I am not competent to
decide.
