e.g. Lat. lignum > Rum. lemn, Lat. signum > Rum. semn.

miel < n~el (which is still a valid pronunciation in Rum. subdialects,
especially in Banat, Transylvania and both Moldovas; for regions of
Banat and Transylvania I can confirm an alternative, intermediary,
pronunciation, [mn~el]) (the same n~ as "gn" in French agneau and Ital.
agnello).
