Though not the same form. The eyamples you gave here, they are supposed
to derive from an Vlt. *cosinus , except Italian I guess since I don't
see the s > g in Italian.
The Albanian form "kushëri" does not seem to derive from the *cosinus,
even wit the rothacism of "n".. Maybe some connection with Alb. "kush"
for "kushëri"?
I think at the Rom. "auS"=Old man related to "neaoS" = autochton,
original; tthe "k" in Albanian can be maybe explained like in "kam"= I
have, versus Rom. "am"= I have.
