The usual explanation should be that the intervocalic "l" did not became
rothacised.
The question here will be " what means in Turkish the word "oluk"?
I will put this question because I found very funny things in DEX
regarded the turkish languages . For instance the Rom. "cãrãbuS" which
is clear related to scarabeus, it is given as coming from Turkish "kara
bas"= sheep with black muzzle.
