< PIE *pleh1ik(-sk)- 'bald' (Pok. p. 834), sometimes contaminated
with PIE *pleh1k^- 'tear' (Pok. p. 385) (or were they eventually one
and the same etymon? in that case the *-ik- ~ *k^ alternation looks
promising as to the origin of possibly allophonic *k^).
