It possibly belongs in the same category as the animal noises in
Pokorny, which is not necessarily the wastebin. Animal noises do
vary from language to language, even though *kuku 'cuckoo' (Root
#1059) be extremely common. (You've already made the point that such
words get restructured or replaced when they deviate from the bird
sound phonetically - your posting on that topic is in the first third
of the archives.)
