The word should have meant leader, chief. There are several toponyms
recorded by Greeks whih end in "-usa" like Argennusa, Syracusa, etc.
Question:
can it be the the formation -(h)egetusa is in fact a Greek compound of
(h)eget + suffix "-usa" and should have the meaning " place of the
leader", "court of the leader" or something like this?
