We can agree that a certain number of Latin elements in Albanian
are "Romanian-like" whilst a certain number of Romanian substrate
elements are Albanian-like. As Mihaescu shows in "La langue latine
dans le Sud-Est de l'Europe", "entre le dalmate et le roumain il
existe des différences très importantes; quant aux éléments latins
de l'albanais, ils se situent entre ces deux langues [...] en
général, le latin de la côte de l'Adriatique s'est developpé
autrement que celui de Dacie et de Mésie"; or according to Skok:
<<Wir müssen daher zwei Typen der Balkan-Latinität annehmen. Der
eine hatte sein Zentrum in der Justinianischen Präfektur, und der
zweite an der Adria".
