calc or how? There is no "superior" in Rom. but "sus", and there is no
"inferior" but "jos".
(I mean here inherited forms of superior and inferior)

sus= up, cf. DEX < latin susum ( = sursum)
jos= donw, cf DEX < lat deo[r]sum
