Why? Karl der Grosse/Charlemagne was Kaiser of the French,
of the Germans, of the Austrians, of the Swiss and of the
Italians. If the French say he was the emperor of the French
I don't think that the Rhinelanders in Aachen or the Franconians
in Wuerzburg or Nuernberg would protest. :)
