The tale is cited after the EIEC, with minimal adjustments. I have
corrected a couple of obvious errors, ignored all stress marks and
replaced all punctuation with slashes (any remaining dots and colons
are syllabicity and length marks). I use <h2> for the a-colouring
laryngeal (also for EIEC <h4> and <hA>).
The tale, which is a translation into reconstructed PIE of a passage
from the _Aitareya-bra:hman.a_, owes most to Eric Hamp; anyone
interested in the circumstances that led to its composition is
referred to the following source:
Sen, S.K. 1994. Proto-Indo-European: a multiangular view. JIES 22, pp.
67-90.
I have omitted the translation. It's more fun if you have to work it
out on your own.
