I "find" that those numerous people who've studied
these things have done a way better job than you
imagine; and I don't believe that, in the next 50
years, the coming generations of researchers will

And what's your point? What do you want to prove
with this? Vocabulary richness is determined by
necessity: sort of... supply & demand. Then, Romanian
(along with other Romance languages) has lost
Latin's rich possibilities to generate words by
simply adding pre-/in-/suffixes or by combining
words almost not altering them (as is also in
modern German and Hungarian). In Romanian there
is the prepositional and genitival "obstacle"...
OTOH, if your idea were right: where is the
alternative substrate vocabulary to compensate
for those Romance things that no longer exist
(or were never included) in the Romanian vocabulary?

What do you mean? The Romance-language speaker in
South-East Europe didn't leave his/her territory
either (the relocation a few hundred km to the East
or South or North or West actually mean nothing: it
was the same old realm of the former Eastern Roman
Empire, as well as the same old "vatra" to the
substrate part of the population).
