I don't know in particular their subject, so I can't say anything. As
far as I remember, there are some similarities between Albanian
tale "Shtatë pëllëmbë mjekër, tri pëllëmbë shtat" and "Statu-palma-
Barba-Cot". Also, Zana and Zina seem to be very common in their
attributes. Jelim, Elin, as Çabej had noticed, have to do with
Greeks, who was treated by Albanians as pagans, barbarians, etc

For Latin "diana" Wlade Hoffmann put as cognates Romanian "zânã" and
Albanian "zanë".
Interesting the Statu Palmã Barbã Cot is present in Albanian too. I
guess it is to explain like in the romanian
statu= stat= tallness
palma= palma= palm
The first two are to translate "Tall as a palm"
Barba= baerd
cot= ell, cubit
the second is to translate " with a baerd long for an ell".
The whole stuff is regarding to a story guy which was called "Tall as a
palm and with a beard long for an ell".
1) the analyse in Albanian in the same way?
2) the cot is a measure which can tell something here. Usualy the
tissues have been measured in "cot" ( in ells).
in which period of time have been used this measure? I mean, where we
have mentions about this way to mess because even today in the rural
area is messing in "cot" and in "stânjeni" ( I guess the word in english
is "fathom" here but I am not very sure).And the highness of the sun is
measured in "sulite" (spears). The sun is for 3 spears on the sky.
3) the Latin palma. How goes it in Albanian "pëllëmba"? Is the "-a" kind
of suffix or just a labialisation of "m"?
