And probably one of these words is even BAN_PAN !

The priest from Raben [~50km S of Bradenburg, Germany], Dr. phil D. theol.
Julius BÖHMER [in "Unsere Heimat", Stuttgart, 1904], tells us:
"In der Mark Brandenburg, bis hin nach Wittenberg wohnten die Lutizier oder
Wilzen, ein kriegerischer und räuberischer Stamm, von Wilt=Wolf abzuleiten.
Die Zauche hieß damals Gau Heveldun (die Bewohner Heveller), der Amtsbezirk
Gau Plonim. Mehrere Ortschaften waren immer einem Zupan (Vogt) Untergrafen
unterstellt. Der Graf, der ein größeres Gebiet regierte und mehrere Zupane
unter sich hatte, hieß Ban oder Pan, seine Wohnung ein Gart, sein Gebiet ein
Bannus, Als solche Bannus werden Belzig, Wiesenburg, Rädigke genannt".

I would like to know exactly in which N slav languages [beside Polish]
exists the word PAN with the meaning of leader/sir/etc. ?
Does anybody has an etymology for this PAN [given in a Polish dictionary for
example] ?
