Another explanation might be the fact that
those Germanic tribes (Goths, Vandals and esp.
Gepids in what's now the Western part of Romania)
stayed there (N & S of the Danube) for a time
span too short for leaving lexical traces.

The Gepids, after Attila's death [453] had the center of their power in Tisa
's plain [so, not on today Romanian territory]. After 453 the archeologist
did find some trace of the Gepids in today Bihor region [NW or Romania]. In
Banat, no trace of the Gepids are found. Between 536-567 [this is one
generation!], some regions of Transilvania were inhabited by Gepids but
after the Longobard-Avar victory from 567, some/the majority[?] of the
Gepids from Transilvania leaved. Until the first half of the VII Century,
exist only a few enclaves of late Gepids [Gambas/Cluj; Archiud,
Bistrita/Bistrita-Nasaud; Aiud, Noslac, Spalanca, Unirea-Veresmort/Alba;
Band, Tg. Mures, Valea Larga/Mures; Bratei/Sibiu]. Characteristic is the
fact that the tombstones of these late Gepides are peripherical with the
indigene population's cemeteries.

Question: are there evidence of Germanic words in today Spanish language
[leaved by the Germanic populations which build kingdom's in Iberic
Peninsula for almost 3 centuries] ?
