If the respectively langauge has an postponed article, yes this is
root+suffix+article

No idea to which language it should belong. Fact is, we have attested
before Romans and in the regions outside of the Roman Empire toponmys
and tribal names which ends in "-ul" and for plural "-uli" , "-li",
"-i".
Getuli, Geloni, Vitulli, Siculli etc, etc etc.
Such kind of testimonies are a bit irritating to me since as an accident
of the nature, later the "Eastern Romance" developed too the same plural
in "-i"; more, in an unfortunately way, the Rom. Lang. has developed an
article which is not only the same coincidentaly (?) "-ul" but, for
making the soup very undigerable, this article is postponed.
How one wil have to trace back this ? No idea. These paralelisms with
actually Rom. Lang are seen as just coincidences. 8 and maybe they are
just coincidences after all)
