Picts

Hi everyone,
I know there's the whole debate over whether the Picts were primarily
Indo-European or not, and as for their language I believe that it was a
seperate branch of Celtic being closest to, but not a derivative of,
Gaulish.

The other day I was in Barnes and Noble and found several books on the
Picts. In one of them reliefs of Pictish warriors from standing stones
in the 8th or 9th century, and the footnote said that the Picts looked
strangely Assyrian in their stances. I became very suspiscious of this
conclusion and want to know why or how the author came to this
conclusion. I've seen this pointed on a Pictish website before but never
really accepted it.
