Thank you guys for responding to my question. I was away a few
days...Yes, this was my source of St. Jerome's sentence, and my
intention was to clearify is this really an argument in favor to
autochthonist theories.

I am looking forward to see what St. Jerome really wrote in his
commentaries. And after that, if sentence is really original, how
could be explained St. Jerome's etymology.
