If the Odin-invading-from-the-south theory is true, then Pytheas
information might be accurate, but irrelevant to other than
archaeologists, since all these tribes were wiped out by the
invasion, rivalries between the 'generals' of which would the origin
of most later tribes.

As for the Tungri, I have proposed that they were Thuringians (=
Hermunduri), in Snorri's terms the army of those kings (sons of the
self-styled Wodan) that were set over Westfalia (remember Fal of the
Merseburger oaths?). It's in the archives.
