So you mean the original name is "Vladimir" and the Germanic variants
should be these with "wald-".
I am not aware of what 'vladimir' in slavic will mean but it looked like
a nice methathesised form of the "waldemar". It seems a bit unlike that
the Germanic have been these which changed the 'vladimir' in 'waldemar'.
The begin "wald" should make sense in germanic, the "vlad-" in slavic ?
vlad= from vladika? vladika= chief or what?
on another hand "mar" in Germanic =? when "mir" in Slavic should be
"peace" but "miro"= aromathic oil so far I remember..
