Steve:
>Let me rephrase that: [... irrelevancies follow... ]
Your rephrasing is wasteful. You lack methodology and use ignorance as
a justification for your chaotic views rather than using actual facts.
You haven't adapted appropriately.
Your views are logically inferior because they are full of extra assumptions
that we don't NEED to assume. This is Occam's Razor.
Here are some of your misguided statements:
"Many IE languages do enter Anatolia returning to where there were
IE languages before [...]"
:: The possibility of something still doesn't make it probable.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"[...]what would prevent IE from returning to Anatolia?"
:: Geographical distance. Pre-IE was not near enough to Anatolia.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"[...]I'm sure you can understand how reasonable persons may
differ about your premise that language families can never return to
an origin location."
:: I never stated such a rule. However, Occam's Razor forbids the
unnecessary multiplication of hypotheses. Your theory is contrary.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"That any genetic relation between pre-IE and pre-Uralic might point to
an ancestor that was located a bit south of northern Europe where
Uralic later was located."
:: This statement is too uneducated to respond to. It's simply not
possible given Uralic connections to EskAleut and Altaic. Again,
a multiplication of hypotheses and even an ignorance of the facts.
What will truly improve the quality of our correspondence and the atmosphere
on this list is accepting Occam's Razor as an invaluable and unignorable
tool in ameliorating existing theories and proposing new and valid ones.
You gain nothing by continuing to ignore this principle.
Also, please refrain in the future from using "We don't know anything so it
could be true" as some kind of rebuttal. It's not a valid arguement.
