Why should the IE homeland be a big civilisation? And what's wrong with
the Black Sea (even in a reduced from), if you want water? Or the Volga?
Or Danube?
Rivers are only necessary for big civilisations as a means of
transport and quick communication. If PIE was a group of related dialects
arranged like slices of a pie over a steppe area, would they need to be a
"big civilisation"?
