Hi Michael,

If I recall correctly, Indo-Pacific was not a former name for Austro-
Asiatic. Rather it is the macrofamily proposed by Merritt Ruhlen to
include a large number of Papuan (New Guinea) and Melanesian language
families plus Tasmanian and Andamanese.
