The explanations found in N.A. Constantinescu's "Dictionar Onomastic
Romanesc", ed. 1963, page 51, regarding En/e, -ea / I o a n problem are
half page [at page 84, VI, B.] full with explanation as:
ENE scris si I e n e, frecv.
1. Ene (P Bor 22); -ea, Ioan, act.; -escu
2. Iene, Gl. (Bal III=s Ieni, Gav. (Bal V)
...
