Names do not normally _describe_ their bearers (not necessarily, at least); they _identify_ them. All that counts is that <andro-> is a legal onomastic elements and that the whole thing is formally feminine. To be precise, <andromakHe:> (the feminine form of the adjective <andromakHos>) means literally 'fighting with men' -- regrettable, but on the positive side we have Andromeda, 'protectress of men'. Note that your own name, <aleksandros>, means 'defender of men', and that f. <aleksandra:> was an epithet of Hera.
