What about <Iain>, a relatively modern Gaelic
derivative, and its English version <Ian>, Irish <Seán>
(medieval Irish <Seaan>) and French <Jean>, both from Old
French <Jehan>, and Russian <Ivan>? Not to mention the
aphetic derivatives like <Hans>, <Hannes>, etc.?
