Well, first thing that comes to mind is the other day Torsten
mentioned a Danish example.
7 syv 7th syvende
8 otte 8th ottende
9 ni 9th niende
10 ti 10th tiende
The -(e)n that was lost in syv, ni and ti (sev_en_, ni_ne_, te_n_)
resurfaces, or "is restored", in the cardinals syven-de, nien-de,
tien-de.
There are of course many more examples. Latin NOM homo: GEN hominis,
for example, where -n (lost in the nominative from *homo:n) resurfaces
in the oblique.
