To read right means to understand right. It schould be not "from"
Romance but "to Romance". I will give the whole German text here :

"frisch: Das westgerm. Adjektiv mhd. "vrisch", ahd. "frisc", niederl.
"vers" is dunklen Urpsrungs. Es wurde früh _in_ die roman. Sprachen
entleht, vgl. frz. "frais" und it. "fresco" ="frisch" (Siehe auch
"fresko").-Abl. frischen (mhd. "vrischen", jetzt nur noch technisch für
"Metallschmelzen" reinigen" und weidmänisch vom Wildschwein "Junge
werfen"; sonst durch "auffrischen"[18 Jh.] und "erfrischen" [mhd.
"ervrischen"] ersetzt). "Frische" (mhd. "vrische"); Frischling "junges
Wildschwein" (mhd. "vrisch(l)inc", ahd. "frisking"="junges [frisch
geborenes] Lamm oder Ferkel", besonders als Zins,- ahd. auch als

It is the second failure in two days. The first one was with "vipera"
and the supposed short /i/ there. I promise I will take more care when I
look in a dictionary.The german sentence is a bit unhappy builded here
but it was definitely my fault.
