Since the language where from the Romanian developed further is the PBR
and not Latin how you say, it doesn't matter anymore if there is a long
or short vowel in Latin, the only one vowel which plays an important
rolle here being the "E" which is deriiving from an short "e" or from
"ae". The others are not short, not long but simple "a, e, i, o, u" and
the diphthong "au". So there is not properly to speak about "short Latin
"V" or long Latin "V" since there is no difference anymore in PBR but
just this "E" which plays a big role. So far I can trace your message
until here and if I am wrong, please correct me where I am.
Please confirm or infirm if I understood it right.
