Not anymore, otherwise viridia would have given *varze, not varzã
(rule a/e/P_#).
It's possible that /ts/ and /z/ were initially "soft" (like Ukrainian
/ts/), and that the sequence was:
tErra > tiera > ts'eara > ts'ara > tsarã
(hard to tell where the simplification of rr > r goes).
