Besides, there is the semi-colloquial (as well as old)
$epte. (Moreover, after the introduction of the
telephone, there has been the habit of saying
$epte in order to avoid misunderstandings bec. of
acoustics. Since the pronunciation of $ase (= six) is
quite close to $apte (= seven), esp. when mikes and
loudspeakers are weak AFA frequencies are concerned.)
