suffix "-andros"

Does the suffix "-andros" has something with greek andros="man" to do or
is related to something else?
What about the meaning of this suffix since in greek the most suffixes
and prefixes have had a explanatory function like "*-oid"= resembling,
shape;"*-one"= who belives in;
