I wondered what the "jawwer" was I heard in the supermarket meant
until I realized it was "ja, hoor!". I remember to this day the first
time I tried to speak Dutch to them and they were very pleased and
beamed at me and when I left they said cheerfully "Auf Wiedersehen!".

Swedish has "hörru!" (< "hör, du!"), and even "hörru du!"
