18. ah2-stems

These consist of thematic vowel + feminine *-ih2. Usually, *i is lost
after the thematic vowel:

N *-%-ix > *-ax -> *-ah2 > *-á:
A *-%-ix-m > *-axm -> *-ah2m > *-á:m
V *-%-ix > *-a(x) -> *-a > *-a
G *-%-ix-âs > *-axos -> *-ah2os > *-ã:s
D *-%-ix-ay > *-axi -> *-ah2i > *-ã:i
I *-%-ix-át > *-axát -> *-ah2ah1 > *-ã:

But there are also forms without loss of *i, usually when the accent
follows after the thematic vowel, i.e. in the (singular) oblique (Skt.
voc. form unclear):

V *-%-i(x) > *-a:y -> *-oy > -oy
G *-%-íx-âs > *-ayáxos -> *-oyáh2os > -oyã:s
D *-%-íx-ay > *-ayáxi -> *-oyáh2i > -oyã:i
I *-%-ix-át > *-ayxét -> *-oyh2áh1 > -oyyá:
