Do pronounce /deZt/ in normal speech. Most of the listeners
would acoustically make no difference betw. /deZt/ and /deSt/
-- unless you emphasize /ZZZZZZTTT/ or unless you pronounce
/ZZZD/, which nobody would do, except for... Arab students :-) --
(exactly because of the "Auslaut" configuration with -t; your
examples above have different environments, with vowels and
syllables following the /Z/ and /S/).
