Well, Caedwalla died only ten days or so after being baptised in Rome, a repentant sinner, an probably did not manage to kill anyone betweenwhiles. I've no idea what he was sainted for -- except being a VIP -- but they buried him at St. Peter's.

Killing oponents(in fact or fiction), especially infidels, seems not to deter people from worshipping saints. You only need to see the iconography of Santiago Matamoros in Spanish churches - reminicent of Egyptian or Persian kings trampling their enemies.
