The whole calculation is located in a time-zone to which our
reconstructions normally do not reach back. On top of it all, with
grammaticalizations like this one (if such it is, I am myself totally
agnostic at the moment) we often experience gross reductions deviating
from the phonetic rules valid even for the *same* period. The effect of
cliticization is very strong, so we just don't know what to expect. That
makes me unable to assess these glottogonic analyses one way or the other.
